Building Blocks of TrainingSo often, what seems like a simple task at first glance can hold many layers of challenge for our dogs. Here our Capable Canines class were given the task of moving the tower of bricks WITHOUT any help (or interference!) from their dogs. All these dogs have a well-established duration sit as a core behaviour, which has been proofed with many different distractions. But this is a new distraction. The handlers are getting to play with a novel new set of toys, and the dogs are really keen to help and investigate. Youโll see that with patience and consistency, the dogs overcome their early temptation, and all show amazing self-control. (They were rewarded with their own brick playtime afterwards!) The handlers were pretty good bricklayers too! Excellent work all round. ๐๐๐ฉ

All their hours of training and careful preparation paid off, with them taking the Winner and Reserve medals respectively.tโs lovely when hard work, dedication and careful preparation really pay off. So proud of Gill with Cilla and Jackie with Bailey, two super-talented scentwork teams. They put so much effort into preparing their dogs for competition, so on top of their regular classes elsewhere, they asked me for a preparation workshop in advance of their National Nosework Association Trial this weekend. All their hours of training and careful preparation paid off, with them taking the Winner and Reserve medals respectively. Very well deservedโฆ Congratulations!!
